Sovereign Trust (Channel Islands) Strikes Gold!
Sovereign Trust (Channel Islands) Limited, the Guernsey office of a leading privately owned international wealth management group, has been awarded the Investors in People Gold standard at its first attempt, joining the top 7% of accredited organisations across the UK that believe in realising the potential of their people.
The Guernsey office – part of the worldwide Sovereign Group, with over 20 offices in all the major offshore and onshore jurisdictions – was established in May 2010 to enhance the services available to clients of the group, and has developed its corporate, trust and retirement structuring solutions during that time. In addition, from the three initial directors the staff number has grown to a total of 25.
Commenting on the award, Stephen Hare, Managing Director of Sovereign Trust, says:
“We are both elated and very proud to have achieved Investors in People Gold at our first attempt at the award. This was very much a team effort, and one that has brought everyone together to work on refining and developing our commitment to both the growth of our employees and the business as a whole.
“When we established the office we were surprised that school leavers were assessed as international students for UK university funding, meaning many good candidates were missing out on obtaining relevant qualifications. Therefore we made a conscious decision to provide opportunities to local people who wanted a career in the finance industry. The Sovereign Group is deeply committed to supporting further study and invests a considerable amount of time and money in allowing the team to develop and acquire new skills and qualifications.”
Georgie Scott, HR Manager, adds:
“I joined Sovereign Trust knowing that they were a company with a real commitment to HR and to developing its people; I am delighted therefore to have contributed to the journey towards Investors in People Gold, one that is richly deserved.”
Congratulations to all the team!
