Bury-based Pennine Telecom has been awarded Bronze accreditation from Investors in People, acknowledging the company’s commitment to realising the potential of its people.

The data and telecommunications’ specialist first secured Investors in People (IIP) status in 2009, with the more advanced IIP Bronze accreditation awarded in August 2015.

Investors in People is the UK’s leading accreditation for business improvement through people management, and provides a wealth of resources for businesses to innovate, improve and grow, with a focus on good people making great business.

Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, said: “Achieving the Investors in People Bronze standard is something that any organisation should be truly proud of. It is the sign of a company which is truly committed to good people management practice and we’d like to congratulate Pennine Telecom on their achievement.”

Steve Burrows, Managing Director of Investors in People North of England said:
“This is a fantastic achievement for Pennine Telecom and I would like to congratulate the team on their success. We believe that good people make a great business and as a proven organisational development framework, Investors in People is designed to help organisations and their people to realise potential, enhance performance and meet goals. With their Bronze accreditation, Pennine Telecom is certainly working to realise their people potential.”

Commenting on the award, Ann Barnes, Pennine Telecom’s HR & Business Support Manager, said: “This is a terrific achievement, one which again demonstrates how we go the extra mile to ensure all members of our staff have access to the resources they need to maximise their potential and develop their career with Pennine Telecom.

“For us, training and development programmes are most definitely an investment, not a cost. By enabling our staff to deepen and broaden their skills we promote confidence and motivation which engenders loyalty, enhances productivity and ensures we are able to offer our customers consistently excellent service.”

News of the higher IIP accreditation follows Pennine recent success at last month’s Skills for Business Awards where it took Manufacturing & Engineering title and the company’s Ben Howarth was named Apprentice of the Year. The same month also saw Ben claiming the Apprentice Award at Bury College’s annual Celebration of Achievement

Congratulations to all the team!
